ATEC2021 was held live in-person and virtually on Saturday, Sep 25, 2021 at Cyberport, Hong Kong.
Over 500 registered participants, both online and in-person, watched as our 8 ATEC Startup Competition Finalists pitched live before the ATEC VC judges panel for the opportunity to win HK$200,000 in prize money and the coveted title of "ATEC Startup of the Year"!

Mr. Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, helped kick off the event with his a few opening remarks on Cyberport's mission to foster talent cultivation, industry development and integration of new and traditional enterprises through digital technology in Hong Kong’s new economy.
Following that, was a keynote fireside chat with Nisa Leung, Managing Partner at Qiming Ventures and one of the foremost early-stage healthcare investors in Asia. This fascinating conversation was facilitated by Damien Horth, Head of Global Research New Business Initiatives at UBS.

The Afternoon Session of ATEC2021 kicked off with the very insightful and topical panel discussion on "Smart Cities - The Digitization of Future Urban Life".
Skilfully moderated by Thomas Chou, Partner at Morrison & Foerster, the conversation covered developments in technology, urban policy and evolving consumer preferences on where to live, work and play. This thoughtful conversation was moderated by Philo Alto, CEO at Asia Value Advisors and HBSAHK Officer, with the discussion covering social entrepreneurship business models, quantifying returns from impact investing and how technology is enabling greater opportunities to deploy scalable, sustainable solutions to society-wide issues. The pitch videos below were recorded on May 5 and May 8, 2021 at Cyberport in Hong Kong. These 13 were selected from the 25 semi-finalists chosen in the first round. Each contestant was allowed 5 minutes for a pitch which could be presented live or as a recording followed by eight minutes for live questions and answers with the judges.
